10/14

The sunset was quite awesome. Not nearly as awesome as the next day (11/14). I'll be posting those soon. I quite enjoy sunsets and sunrises. They're quite fun to photograph.

Park walk.

I took a walk through a local nature park. It was just a nice walk to relax and take some photos on. Here are the results. There wasn't a project that I was exactly trying to do, but I am always inspired by Cole Rise's photographs. I also added textures to some of these.

9/14

Peanut brittle! My dad made some peanut brittle today, a sign christmas time has finally arrived! He always makes peanut brittle during the holidays. It tastes so great.

8/14

Today I helped my dad put up christmas lights! It was a nice day, so we took advantage of it. I put up pretty much all of the lights on the roof by myself. I quite like christmas lights.

7/17

It was a beautiful day today. So sunny! I put the lamp post between the sun and my camera, it looks awesome.

6/14

THANKSGIVING!!!!!! Today was thanksgiving! This is some of the food we had, it was great! It was just the four of us in our family this year; it was nice. Very relaxing day. And tasty food.

5/14

I did some light trail photos tonight. This was by far the best one I got. I put three rootbeer bottles on my dresser and then traced their outline with a small flashlight. I quite like the effect.

4/14

I got a new dresser a while ago. Today, I spent a while putting away my large mass of cloths. It took forever to fold all my t-shirts.

3/14

So here is a photo of a collection of old toys and tools. I have been examining some of the toys I have from when I was a kid, there is tons of potential to make some sort of camera out of some of these items. So, I'm trying to make a camera out of old children's toys. Crazy? Yes. Possible? Yes.

On another note, I want to do a project of collections. They would all be similar to this, with items laid out. I think it would be cool.

2/14

I went to a local nature park today, I took a walk and took some photos. I'll post those photos later. Lately I seem to be quite enjoying the square crop; it has a great effect. It works really well with some photos, such as this. I also edited the colors more heavily than usual in this photo, and I like it as well. It was a nice walk; not raining, not too cold, not too crowded. Just right.

1/14

Today I went to my sister's dance competition. This is her. Their dance routine had a zombie theme; that is the reason for the somewhat frightening costume she has on. Their dance team rocked the competition; they took some of the top spots for their various routines. I quite enjoy watching them. Later in the day we went to "The Immortal World Tour", which was Cirque du Soleil performing their Michael Jackson tribute. It was pretty cool. So overall, my day was filled with a ton of dance.

0/14 (Fortnight project)

So, there's this project called the 365 project that a lot of photographers have done. Basically, the project consists of taking a picture every day for one year. So 365 photos total. I think that next year I want to try it, and to see if I can do it I'm going to start off small. For the next two weeks (a fortnight) I am going to try to take a photo at least once a day, if not more. I'll upload that day's photo along with a description of it or the day. First photo will be taken today.

Inspiration.

Just some photographers or sites I've been looking at.
Lars Van De Goor
Christian Gendron
Julien Denoyer (Her work is extremely scarce and difficult to find. These are pretty much the only photos currently on the internet. She had a bunch of photos on her flickr, but for some reason she has removed them all.)
Jiuck Gomez (Specifically, these.)
Dan Mountford (Very little of his work is on the internet.)

From the line "Stay as still as you think you should be". I'm not sure which edit of the photo I like better, so I put them both up. I think I like the first one better if there isn't a texture, and I like the second one better if there is a texture.

Texture overlays.

So, now that I've got some textures to select from (and more I'm going to be taking), I can use them to combine with photos I take during the rest of my projects. Here are a few combinations from my 40 and 1/3 project.

Music is a photograph.

Music is meant to evoke emotion in a person. Photography is meant to evoke emotion in a person. Any kind of art is supposed to have this effect. So, in theory, you could represent one art form through another. I am going to attempt to do this with this project the I'm starting. The idea is to take a musical album, and turn it into a series of photographs. You can do this through looking at the song titles, reading the lyrics, listening to the music. Just whatever the music makes you feel, then using these things you've observed to create a photograph. I've been thinking about this project for a while, so I've got some good ideas already. The album that I'm going to photograph is Circa Survive's "Blue Sky Noise". I'm going to use the lyrics of the songs, along with the feeling of the songs, to create my photographs. When I finish the project I'll put the photographs up with the songs that inspired them.

Texture project.

Here are some of the textures that I photographed in my latest project.
