Teenager Character Study.

These are all of the photos from the teenager character study.

California Mountains.

I feel like this is slightly similar to Cole Rise's photographs. Not as good, but similar. He is really an inspiration.

100th Post! / Final Portfolio.

Figured I'd take a moment and celebrate this moment. I've been posting to this blog for about a year and a half now, Photo 1, Photo 2, and Photo 3. Soon to be Photo 4. This has been an awesome place to display my art. Even if nobody sees it, I feel like somebody does and appreciates it. And I like that.
Alright, so the end of the semester is drawing near. I think what I want to do is select a "Final Portfolio". This would contain a certain number of my favorite photos that I've taken over the course of the semester. I think I want to limit it to 36 photographs, like a roll of film. So I'll pick out 24 of my favorites from the semester and post them here. They'll be up by the beginning of next week or so. I'm excited. It'll be super awesome looking back at all I've accomplished over the course of the semester. Also, it'll be difficult choosing which ones are best! But it'll be good.

Dear 17 year old self...

In regards to photography:
- Don't take a photograph. Make art.
- You are capable of making anything into a good photograph.
- Don't be afraid to experiment. Be abnormal.
- Trust your gut.
- Make the decisions for yourself, don't let your camera make them for you. You're the one making art here, not the camera.
- Look at photographs as often as possible.
- Take at least one photo every day.
- Have multiple photographer's work you look up to.
- Don't strive to be as good as your inspirations. Strive to be better.

First "Character" photograph.

This photo is the photo of the day for my 366 blog (here). It is also the start of my character study project. I feel like a lot of teenagers are addicted to their technology. I'm not saying I'm really an exception, but I am aware of it. The sort of blank look I have, illuminated by the computer screen, really shows some of the mindlessness that we have while being addicted to our various technologies. I think I'll probably take more photographs of technology addiction for the teenage character. More to come soon.

Old and new project updates.

So, still working on all the California photos. Those will take a while. There's some great shots in there!

My next project is going to be a Character Study. I'm going to portray various characters and explore each through photographs. The first one is going to be "the average teenager" because that one is obviously the easiest for me to portray. Each character should have anywhere from three to seven or so photographs. I'll have hopefully finished "the average teenager" by the end of this week. More will come later.
